AVERAGE SALARY IN BULGARIA AND REGIONAL SPECIFICITIES

The average Bulgarian salary is experiencing considerable regional variations: while it reaches just over EUR 1000 per month in the capital Sofia, it is only around EUR 600 per month in the northern regions of the country (border with Romania).

It should be noted, however, that the figures selected by the Bulgarian Ministry of economy and summarized here consider only salaries in the strict sense, excluding bonuses which sometimes constitute a significant share of Bulgarian remuneration (about 10 to 15%).
